Psalms 36:1-2 (NLT) [1]Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts.    They have no fear of God at all.[2]In their blind conceit,  they cannot see how wicked they really are.
I wonder why its a whisper in the first place; maybe it’s to give a feeling of profitable conspiracy;
You know, like ‘We are pals, let’ s do this, nobody else has to know’ And the summons is so irresistible;
The little girl who sights those sweets on the table, looks around to see no one’s coming, and helps herself to one. Just one.
The young boy who tells a little white lie, to save himself and his classmates from the teacher’s punishment. The whisper says ‘you are doing a good deed, helping out your friends like this’
The young lady who covers up her sexual escapades by taking out the foetus forming inside her. That whispering voice of sin, this time, says  ‘it’s not even a real baby yet. Besides, you are preventing one person from coming into this terrible world. You are saving humanity, one person at a time.’
Àháà! The man who appends his signature on that receipt with the figures raised just by a few zeroes at the back. Just some insignificant zeroes right? Only difference is, his kids’ school fees would be paid on time now.
And there’s the woman whose hubby hasn’t touched in years, she takes on a lover out there. And she has a good reason too. At least that’s better than divorcing him. She’s being nice.
Oh, such a relief, thank God you are not on any of these tables being shaken; but then, there’s that little something that probably no one but you knows about, and you always find a way to justify yourself…
Sin is like that at times, seemingly nice and friendly. Good reasons and all. But beware. It only leads to destruction.
Away with you nice and friendly destroyer, I will rise above my temptations, becoming better and stronger with each win.
