Like always, HP has gone and outdone themselves with the newest Spectre x360 13! The laptop has in the past ranked as among the best two in one laptop, with an eye-catching design and sturdy hardware. The machine has hinges that allow you to rotate the display 360 degrees, which makes it two devices in one package.

Design

The Spectre x360 13 has an aluminum backbone or chassis that is elegantly contoured. Both the machine’s hinges are quite firm and adept at holding the display in its place. The Spectre x360 13 is the tiniest convertible which has a screen to body ratio of 90%. This ratio is smaller by 13% compared to the previous machines, with a weight of 2.8 lbs.

On the laptop’s lid, a stunning gold chrome log takes center place, and inside, a touchpad trimmed in gold and branded Spectre x360 13. A fingerprint sensor is located on the right bottom corner of the keyboard.

Performance

The Spectre x360 13 is equipped with 8GB RAM and an Intel Core i7-8565U. It can easily handle any browsing habit. It offers up to 22 hours of battery life and features a quad-core 10th Gen Intel Core processor with Iris Plus Graphics.

Security

Six out of ten people cover their webcams for protection and avoid hacking via the webcam. The Spectre x360 13 has an HP Webcam Kill Switch that keeps users safe via a switch that turns the webcam off when you are not using it. It also features a dedicated mute mic, which has an LED on and off-key.  An optional in-built privacy screen functions in landscape mode and is available on a select few HP models.

The most exciting security feature on the Spectre HP x360 13 is the pre-installed VPN. ExpressVPN and HP have teamed up to ensure that HP clients are secured with ExpressVPN protection. HP clients who purchase the Spectre x360 13 will enjoy a month-long trial period to not only stay protected on public Wi-Fi networks but also enjoy browsing without restrictions, overcoming any censorship imposed on by the country or institutions. This means that ExpressVPN will not only benefit jet-setting businessmen flying from airports to airports but also students who desperately need a facebook VPN to unblock social media.

Express VPN Trusted Server technology

ExpressVPN servers run on a technology developed in-house aptly named ‘TrustedServer’, whereby its thousands of servers around the world run on RAM only such that data is wiped clean every time the server reboots.

Conclusion

HP and other technology brands realize the need to provide cybersecurity solutions by integrating the solutions into operating systems. In a survey carried out by GlobalWebIndex, it showed that 30% of the total internet users have at some time in the last month or so made use of a VPN. The world’s VPN market is set to grow by at least 50% to a probable $36.6 billion in the next four years, up from an approximate $23.6 billion in 2019.

Mike Nash, Vice president of Customer Experience, Personal Systems, and chief technologist HP Inc., said their clients connect to unsecured channels regularly. He also mentioned how excited HP was to be adding ExpressVPN to their security features.

Cheers!
