I was thinking as I watched my last son sleeping in the living room yesterday night and I asked God why do you love little children so much? Why have you hidden things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to little children (Matthew 11:25)? Why do we have to become like little children before we can enter your kingdom (Matthew 18:3)? Why is it that the kingdom of heaven belongs to little children (Matthew 19:14)?
This morning the Lord gave me a scripture to answers these questions of mine; it said that *blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God* (Matthew 5:8). Children hearts are pure and they don’t plan evil or discriminate though they could be mischievous 😃😃 but God’s Kingdom belongs to them.
We have to be like little children to enter God’s Kingdom, this means that we must have a pure heart. We must walk in purity before God and be pleasing to Him in all our conducts. We must rid ourselves of worldly nature and pick up the pure heart of Christ. It is written that anyone who wants to be like and has hope in Jesus must purify himself/herself, just as Jesus is pure.” (1 John 3:3); he/she must put on the Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts (Romans 13:14); he/she must pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with all those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).
When we have a pure heart then our salvation is certain; God has called us to purity so we have no option but to surrender to God’s inner working and pray that He would continue to cleanse us through and through. So, this morning, I am asking God to cleanse our heart and make us pure before Him so that we shall see His face. I am asking God to help us to portray the purity of His love and the Holy Spirit in our lives; be our strength in our weaknesses and show us what it means to live our lives as a sacrifice for Him.
I want to show God my gratitude by choosing to walk with a pure heart, so I ask God that He purify me in His love because I know that His love purifies the heart. What about you?
I pray that God will perfect us in His love so that we may be more like him. Amen.
Good morning and have a igbadunlious Saturday.
