The story goes like this a pilot of Arik Air who just resigned advised people to stay away from Arik Air for now. He alleged that the planes had not been maintained and are lacking spare parts to change bad parts. How ever, Arik Air has come out to debunk this information.

Here is the full story below:

A pilot who just resigned/ withdrew his services from ARIK has advised that if you have to fly, that you stay off ARIK for sometime that they’ve not been maintaining the planes and DO NOT HAVE SPARE PARTS TO CHANGE bad ones at any point right now.

That is his reason for resigning as he cannot afford to crash the aircraft killing  innocent people.

This was the message making the rounds on social media and Arik Air has finally responded to these heavy allegations.

Below is the response from Arik Air:

Dear All,

I am sure you have all  been inundated with WhatsApp, BBM and Text (SMS) messages alleging that Arik Air has not been maintaining its aircraft.

Find below our official response to the falsehood. Please copy the message and circulate widely to all your contacts on BBM, WhatsApp and other medium.

SMS/BBM/WhapApp message

Arik Air appeals to its esteemed guests to ignore any message alleging that the airline’s aircraft are not well maintained.

Arik has been leading the resurgence of Nigerian civil aviation by committing to being a quality airline adhering and operating to international safety and operational standards using modern aircraft and having high maintenance and safety standards.

The airline has an existing contract with world renowned maintenance providers such as Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Cityline under full “turnkey” maintenance service contracts and other leading maintenance service providers such as SAMCO Engineering, South African Airways (SAA) Technical and Ethiopia Engineering.

The airline also maintains a well-stocked spares parts store with market value of over 250 Million USD.

The falsehood about Arik operations is the handiwork of mischief makers and one of our staff whose appointment was terminated on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 for misconduct and fraud.
