Still reeling in Trump’s victory, today every international news agencies are focusing on him. I remembered before the election, I said that if it is God’s will that Trump will win the election and become President of America there is nothing anyone can do about it; that God wants to use Trump for a purpose no man knows about but God’s will came to past. It is my belief that after a few years God’s purpose about Trump will be made manifest to us. But if I were Trump I will always enquire from God before taking any step or decision.
Saul and David were both appointed King over Israel by God, at a stage Saul fell out of favour with God and when he needed God most, the Lord wouldn’t answer him. (1 Samuel 28:6) but whenever David needs God, he always answers? *WHY?* Saul didn’t care about what the Lord wanted as he rarely inquired of God; moreover,  he resisted the Holy Spirit in order to follow his own heart. He persecuted David and walked contrary to the Lord.
If we live for the will of the flesh and do not take to heart to walk in the Spirit, then God’s voice will fade away until it is nearly impossible for us to hear Him. As Christians, we must learn to inquire continuously of the Lord and when we make inquiry, we are asking the Lord either what His will is or what the wisest decision is. By asking God what we should do, we give Him more opportunity to communicate with us. His Holy Spirit will lead us through His voice and every Christian must be led by the Spirit for the Scriptures says that *…for as many as are led by the spirit of God these are the sons of God* (Romans 8:14).
We must be led by the Lord in everything we do. If we are not led by Him, then we will not walk in the Spirit. If we do not walk in the Spirit, then the Lord is not operating through us. And if God is not working through us, then our flesh is because no one is justified and saved by the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19–21).
This morning God is looking for people to call His friends and I pray that God will help us to become His friend but we must learn to inquire of Him and pursue God’s heart and live according to it. May God help us in Jesus name. Amen.
Good morning and have a blessed week.
