How Big is your God

Today I am going to asked you a question – *how big is your God?* The America election has come and gone but do you see God at work?
Going back to the Scriptures we all know how Esther defile the odds and save the children of Israel from annihilation by Haman. She was ready to die in the process of doing so. When Mordecai sent word to Esther that she must go see the king and beg for mercy for her people. Esther sent word back to Mordecai. This is what she said, “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned, the king has but one law: that he be put to death. The only exception to this is for the king to extend the gold scepter to him and spare his life. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king (Esther 4:11). What was Esther saying? If I go before the King, I will surely die. She feared for her life. The circumstance is too overwhelming.
Likewise, the circumstances before Trump was too overwhelming. His past caught up with him, he was too crass, too much of a brazen sexist, too much a blustery orange-maned joke, too ill-informed about the operations of a country he wanted to run, too much of a threat to markets and the security establishment – too pessimistic — to ever win the White House. He was underestimated at every turn, he was spurned by his own party, the polls never gave him a chance, he was judged and condemned by the whole world but he was not distracted from reaching his destiny. Today, against all odds, he is the 45th President-elect of USA. God was and is at work.
Could there be a lesson there for us to learn? Yes and there are many.
In our dealings with people, we try to play God, we judge, we condemn, we castigate our fellow beings when they do things that we believe is contrary to God’s plans. We have forgotten that God’s plans are not like our plans, and His deeds are not like our deeds (Isaiah 55:8). God’s plans and deeds are always superior to ours. It’s only God that knows His will for your life, likewise, He is only One that plans and chart your destiny, not any man. The road to your destiny may not be the conventional road or the well laid road, but He will get you there provided you too are willing to press on. God use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27). Today, all the wise analysts and pollsters in the US are confounded, they keep asking, what went wrong? How did we missed it? What did we not see? Yes, they missed God and they did not see God. They believe so much on their wisdom and God use a Donald Trump to confound them. Period!!!
One of our major challenges when confronted with situations or problems is that we get too close to the problem. It is like standing by a wall and placing our nose against that wall. What do we see? We cannot see anything but the wall. Our perspective becomes the wall and it is staring us straight in the face. Sometimes we need to take a couple of steps back. Quit focusing on the wall and look above the wall. Our perspective changes when we take a step back and look to the Problem Solver.
Esther did that, Trump did that too and so can we. I want you to know today that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). What happens when we try to solve our problem on our own? There will be more of that problem tomorrow.
Are you facing a wall that is bigger than your God? Then how big is your God?
Is he big enough for your problems?
Is he big enough for your future?
Is he big enough for your pain?
Is he big enough for your fears?
Is he big enough for whatever you’re facing?
If he isn’t, maybe you need to trade him in for the King of kings and Lord of lords through Jesus Christ our Lord. My God is telling you today that He is going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told (Habakkuk 1:5). He did it for Esther, He did it for Trump, He did it for me, He will definitely do it for you in Jesus name. Amen.
Good morning and have a blessed day.
