The Thirty Minutes Employee

My new job only lasted 30 minutes and I wondered if Lora did not have a hand in it. She was a very fetish girl apart from her persuasive skills which she thought me. She was one girl you can never say no to. No matter what the situation of your pocket is. I had a glimpse of her in my dream a day before my job. She wrestled me and won. I laid flat on the floor and she cursed.

Then I woke up, feeling exhausted and sick. But I dragged myself off to work. Unfortunately, the MD had foreign clients and one look at my sullen face he sent me home.

I have been home now for the whole week without a word from the Company. I cried most times to God to help me through this situation. Daniel had not called since the last time. Trust my mother not to leave me in peace. She stayed home for that week nursing me back to health. I finally recovered and I went to the IT firm.

‘Good morning.’ I said to the receptionist. I am here to see the MD my name is Rara Faf…

‘I know who you are.’ She cut in.

‘You were ill, how do you feel now?’

‘Fine, I guess.’ I said.

‘The MD is away on a trip, maybe check back in another week.’ She said

She was sympathetic towards me.

‘What of the HR?’

‘What HR? We have none. We usually hire a recruitment agency to recruit employees for us. Sorry’ She said

I slowly walked out of the building with my head down then I felt a sharp pain. I must have bumped into something. It was as hard as rock.

‘Watch where you are going’ The voice shouted.

I looked up, it was the MD.

‘I thought you were away.’ I muttered and blacked out.

I woke up in a white room, everything was white, the beds and the clothes of the people hovering around me.

‘Where am I? Is this a cult or what?’

I made to move but felt the persisting pain on my forehead. I touched it. It was swollen like a rock.

‘Wow.’ I muttered and laid down again.

‘Compensate her. The swell is really bad.’ The voice said.

‘She bumped into me, if she was looking she wouldn’t have hit my steel brief case.’ Another voice whispered.

‘Did you say you don’t know her. She could write a petition against you and all.’

‘I know her as the 30 minutes employee. She lasted only 3o minutes in my office before I sacked her last week.’

‘That’s worst, she could say you were hell bent on inflicting injury on her because you don’t want her to work for you.’

‘That’s ridiculous. No one would believe it.’

‘But it will be a sensational story and blogs will be quick to latch on it.’

‘Damnn, damn damn. What should I do now?’

‘Ask her what she wants when she wakes up. She is delirious now, that’s the effect of the drugs’

Hmmm, this is interesting. I thought. And I knew what my answer would be when the MD eventually asks.
