Fifty shades darker follows perpetual lip-bitter Anastasia Steele(Dakota Johnson) and her fractious relationship with shadowy mogul Christian Grey Jamie Dornan). We’re again treated to the lilting strains of the series’ unofficial theme song “Crazy in Love” (Beyonce’s excellently stripped down version gets replaced by a generic coffee house cover by Miguel). Based on the trailer we’ll be getting a masquerade ball that’s probably more in line with Phantom of the Opera than Eyes Wide ShutFifty Shades Darker also gives audiences their first introduction to the infamous “Mrs. Robinson,” here played by a luminous Kim Basinger. I’m calling it, she’s gonna be the best part of the film. Also returning from fifty Shades of Grey are Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini, who are joined for the first time by Oscar winner Kim Basinger, Hugh Dancy Bella Heathcote and Eric Johnson. Fifty Shades Darker is directed by James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and oce again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E.L James, the creator of the culture – spanning blockbuster series. The screeplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the book by E.L James.
