My worst dinner ever is not a poorly cooked meal or a meal which I do not favour in taste but one which I created unintentionally by my oversight. It was a day like any other, save for the part where I had no breakfast to prevent sleep from knocking me off the table of productivity. I also kinda skipped lunch since it was all rushed. I had it standing because I was on my way out. Then dinner, it was boiled irish potatoes and fried eggs. I had some fried eggs stock in the fridge and earlier in the morning I had confirmed that it was still good for eating.
I asked my help to boil the potatoes and I had earlier shouted at her for burning the porridge plantain which she heated on the gas. She left me to my devices as I was close to the kitchen. Unfortunately for me that exact moment when the water in the potatoes was almost dried up was the moment I decided to flip through the channels in search for a good movie to accompany the food. It was not funny, when I entered the kitchen. The potatoes was burnt and the inside part of the pot was blackened by the burnt. The burns was nothing compared to what my help burnt earlier on. I salvaged what I could from the pot but the fried eggs I heated up in the microwave was another tale. It was spoilt. So I was left with boiled salty potatoes(My help had seasoned it and must have put a lot of salt) .
That was how I ate it o! I remembered the episode in Ay’s Crib where his girlfriend had garri in the middle of the night as a result of hunger. My tummy churned me and the champion against the hunger was boiled yam and palm oil. Thank God, I had alternatives, imagine if it was my last meal in the house. mmmmm
Tell me what your experience is like on your worst dinner ever? Have you ever had one?
