I was once told a story of a man who loved his woman to attend to his every little need. From boiling his water for bath to mixing it; to getting him a drink; to checking who is at the door even when he is close by; to getting him the remote control by the side of the sofa while she is in the kitchen. He always sent her and if he does not like the food she cooked; he made her cook another meal there and then. I am certain that as a 21st century sophisticated woman reading this you are already getting upset and impatient. Well, the woman never complained and she never got angry and many years later when they were older the man had arthritis and found it difficult to climb the stairs. So she moved him to the bedroom downstairs while she enjoyed herself with all the great facilities upstairs and even when he called her to do his every bidding she answered him at her own time. He couldn’t complain or scold her, he knew she was only doing him a favour at that point because he had misused all the goodwill and love she had in store for him.

This brings me to the essence of this article. Men help thy selves because a woman was created by God to be your help mate and not your slave. She is a helper not a worker. If she does everything for you then what will you do for yourself?

Men help thy selves because a woman is a beautiful and fragile being and not a rag or trash.

Men help thy selves because one day your woman won’t be in a position to help you, she may need that help from you. A woman could be nursing a baby and be in need of you to do house chores or make the meal.

Men help thy selves because your woman is not a machine, she is human and humans do fall sick or have a breakdown.

Men help thy selves so that your woman would not be frustrated and make a drastic decision which will leave its mark on you and your children for the rest of your life.

Your woman is your jewel, your treasure and she is simply God’s idea.
