And so we were at the church yesterday, there I was, seated religiously and devoutly following the sermon being preached by the Priest. He spoke of us loving our neighbours, being one of the greatest commandment God has given us. He said while we might come up with a thousand reasons not to love in this present society we should remember the commandment and be like the good Samaritan who helped the injured stranger on the road. Then all of a sudden I noticed this girl, she is about 5 years or less.(You know this Indomie generation, they grown bigger than their age). She wouldn’t seat down and she began moving her seat all over the place. Talking all the while, she wouldn’t just shut up. I thought of what the Priest said and I ignored her. Her indulgent mother wouldn’t just discipline her. As the mass progressed, the noise became worse. At that point I wished I was her mother, I would have lured her outside and given her African beating. I know those sort of thing is not done abroad, but again this is Nigeria and that beating would have been very fulfilling. She was an example of a difficult person to love. But the Indulgent mother spoke to her softly and the girl continued troubling everyone. Christainity is hard o! Walahi.

When I couldn’t hold it anymore, I asked her to keep quiet in a whispery manner and she responded asking me to keep quiet too. Then I told her that I would beat her and she kept quiet, Not for long though.

Beside me another drama unfolded, the clueless mother had two daughters with a little over one-year age gap. The bigger child was crying continuously and the younger child sat gallantly staring at her. Then, the clueless mother fed them snacks and left her younger child and the older one behind while she went to receive holy communion, na so drama start o. Indulgent mother started condemning the behaviour of the clueless mother, that how can she leave her child behind? Meanwhile, her child kept on misbehaving to the extent of slapping the leg of the man who sat beside her mother.

If na you wetin you go do?

  1. Beat the spoilt 5years old girl
  2. Carry the little child crying
  3. Judge them silently
  4. Lecture both women on how to raise a child

I await your answers.
